VOLTA SEPTEMBER 2022 features MJ O'Neill, Boy Renaissance, and Jarad Bruinstroop. Volta will be held in-person at the Brisbane Square Library’s End Room.

MJ O'Neill is a Brisbane-based musician who also does lots of other things. She's performed alongside Royal Blood, Donny Benet, and members of Death Grips, clipping., and Regurgitator. Her music has been described as sounding like spaceships crashing, a Twin Peaks videogame, and a "vaguely antagonistic" version of dance music.
Boy Renaissance is an Australia-based spoken word poet and performance artist known for their exciting combination of spoken word, beatbox, and physical theatre. They have won numerous slams, are published in several collections, and have toured nationally at countless events including Midsumma Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, and Horizon Festival.
Jarad Bruinstroop is a writer, PhD candidate and sessional academic at QUT. His work has appeared in Meanjin, Overland, Island, Westerly, Australian Poetry Journal and elsewhere. He was runner up for the 2021 Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize. He is the 2022 Fryer Library Creative Writing Fellow.
