⚡VOLTA is co-presented monthly by Queensland Poetry and Brisbane Square Library, bringing you electric poetry, spoken word, and the unexpected.

PERFORMERS

When not writing poetry, Jackie Smith is a freelance journalist, editor and proof-reader and marketing graduate based in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. She has appeared as a featured artist at Redcliffe Writers' Open Mic, Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland, Wynnum Library and Queensland Poetry's Volta following the release of her debut book, The Nostalgia Collection. Rosanna E. Licari has an Istrian-Italian background. Her poetry collection An Absence of Saints (UQP) won the Thomas Shapcott Manuscript Prize, the Anne Elder Poetry Award, and the Wesley Michel Wright Award. Her latest collection Earlier (Ginninderra Press) was published in 2023. She is the poetry editor of StylusLit.  

Mindy Gill’s poems have most recently appeared in Griffith Review and The Penguin Book of Indian Poets. Her criticism has been published in Australian Book Review, Sydney Review of Books and Meanjin. She is an Australian Book Review Rising Star.
