VOLTA AUGUST 2022 features Jos Glencross, Madeleine Dale and Rae White, and will be hosted by Angela Peita. Volta will be held in-person at the Brisbane Square Library’s End Room.

Jos Glencross is a queer writer, from Meanjin (Brisbane). They love to play with words, yell about the state of the world and aim to adopt several dozen cats throughout their lifetime. Their work is published or forthcoming in Aniko Press, Blue Bottle Journal, Verandah Literary Magazine, Urinal Mag and Gems Zine. You can find them lurking on instagram @jd.glenx
Madeleine Dale is a Brisbane-based poet and researcher. She holds a First Class Honours degree and Masters degree from the University of Queensland, where she is currently working on her PhD. Her work has been shortlisted for the Val Vallis Award, the Thomas Shapcott Award, and the Dorothy Hewett Award.
Rae White is a non-binary transgender writer, author and zine maker. Their poetry collection Milk Teeth (UQP, 2018) won 2017 Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize and was shortlisted for 2019 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Rae’s second poetry collection Exactly As I Am is out now through UQP. Rae is the editor of #EnbyLife, a journal for non-binary and gender diverse creatives.
