VOLTA APRIL 2022 features Jarrah L. Barton, Claire Alcock and Damen O’Brien, and will be held in-person at the Brisbane Square Library.

Jarrah L. Barton is a Poet, Author, Actress, and Musician living in Meanjin. She has released four self-published poetry zines, and her poetry has been published in Blue Bottle Journal, InkBlot Mag, and several issues of GLASS Magazine. She also writes fiction and non-fiction prose.
Claire Alcock (she/they) is a poet and storyteller from Meanjin. In addition to receiving the highest placed QLD entry for the XYZ Innovation in Spoken Word Award, their written work has been short-listed for the Monash Undergraduate Prize for Creative Writing and the international First Pages Prize.
Damen O’Brien is a multi-award-winning Brisbane poet. Damen’s prizes include The Moth Poetry Prize, the Newcastle Poetry Prize, and the Peter Porter Poetry Prize (joint winner). Damen has been published in Cordite, Southerly, Overland, Island and other journals. Damen’s first book of poetry, Animals With Human Voices, is available through Recent Work Press.
