Every Place Has a Soul: A Poetry Workshop

With Manisha Anjali

Dates: Choose either Sunday 12th June at 11am AEST or Thursday 16th June at 6.30pm AEST

Every Place has a soul, every street has a story. In this workshop, we will commune with our inner worlds in relation to the places we live, work and dream, as basis for writing poetry. The workshop will involve an improvised silent walk, creation of personal psychogeography maps, and writing what takes place in between psyche and space. We will discuss memory, dream and emotion inspired by architecture, signage, roads and objects, and philosophies on what constitutes the spirit of a place, as well as the spirit of a poem.

Poets will leave the workshop with:

  • personal maps, a draft poem, and a method for daydreaming and composing in collaboration with their environment.

What you need to participate:

  • Zoom and a reliable Internet connection

This workshop is suitable for:

  • Poets of any age or experience
