CALL & RESPONSE: Poetry as conversation (17 June)

CALL & RESPONSE: Poetry as conversation
from A$30.00

Poems do not happen in a vacuum—often poets respond to ideas, images, places, and events that other poets have also explored. This workshop aims to read several poems closely to tease out the threads of conversation that might be picked up between poems, and responded to in poetry of your own.

What you need to participate:

  • Zoom and a reliable Internet connection

  • Bring a much-loved poem of your own, with which you can apply the strategies we explore in the workshop.

This workshop will best suit:

  • Beginner and intermediate poets

Ticketing:

This workshop will be run identically twice, so please choose the date that suits you. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale, from concession ($30) to full ($40) to feelin’ flush ($50, i.e. subsidise a concession ticket by choosing to pay a li’l extra, if you can). One free ticket is reserved for a person experiencing financial hardship — please get in touch. Upon booking, you will receive email confirmation and, closer to the date, further instructions and a Zoom link for your workshop.
